		Dwight Cope first became involved in the distribution of plastics as an employee of Plastics Parts and Sales of St. Louis in 1946. In order to meet customer needs for special cutting, drilling, forming, and machining, he and his wife, Mozelle, began Cope Plastics as a separate company. The two companies became one business unit in 1960. In January 1961, they incorporated the company in the State of Illinois as Cope Plastics Incorporated, with locations in St. Louis, Missouri and Godfrey, Illinois. The legacy continues with second and third generation family members in key positions throughout the company.
