Our Best Practices

Keeping Our Team Safe

Protecting our employees, their families, and our customers is our number one priority. This page has information about how we are changing our operations to keep our people safe and stay in compliance with federal and state regulations.

How We’re Changing to Keep our Employees Safe

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

We're following all current WHO and CDC recommended measures to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

We provide face masks and disposable gloves for all team members and encourage everyone to wear them while working. As always, we supply safety glasses to all Cope Plastics employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.

Social Distancing

We have several measures in place to remind team members to practice social distancing and make it easy to do so. These new measures include…

  • “Blue dots” on all flooring as visual aids to demonstrate 6 feet apart
  • Social distancing signage throughout all work areas
  • Staggered breaks and lunches for team members with tables spaced more than 6 feet apart
  • Corporate and branch employees who can work from home effectively are encouraged to do so

Improved Communication

Cope is also working to prevent the spread of virus from surfaces to people and from surface to surface. Our new procedures include...

  • A mailbox between fabrication and warehouse has been added to communicate material staging and prevent cross contamination
  • Shift changes are spaced 30 minutes apart to allow for sanitizing, preventing cross contamination and promoting social distancing
  • Keeping employees virtually connected via printed information, emails, and electronic signage.

Limiting Visitors

We usually love visitors and interacting with our favorite drivers, but we’ve had to change our policies to keep our employees safe.

  • No visitors currently admitted to our facilities without an appointment
  • We have created a “driver’s station” to limit physical contact with Cope employees with new guidelines for paperwork processing that enables social distancing and prevents cross contamination

Frequent Cleaning

We have provided signage to remind our team members about hygiene best practices and have provided additional cleaning supplies to our plant, office headquarters, and branch locations.

  • Signage that demonstrates proper hand washing
  • Designated personnel disinfects high touch areas with hospital grade disinfectant at least twice per day
  • Disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer available for use throughout the plant
  • Each branch supplied with a cleaning care package and instructions for proper use

One Cope Strong

We are grateful to the medical community, emergency response teams, and all those on the front line during this pandemic.
The bravery of our own team to keep our business up and running is an inspiration!
We are in this together, and we will get through this together!
