Cope Plastics Awarded for Recycling & Education

Cope Plastics, Inc has been awarded by the International Association of Plastics Distribution for recycling and education excellence. The IAPD brings together all manufacturers, fabricators, distributors, recyclers, manufacturers’ representatives, and service providers for the plastic sheet, rod, tube, and profile industry.

Each year, the IAPD meets to present various awards and commemorate members in multiple categories. There are awards dedicated to honoring exceptional work by individuals within a company or for independent entrepreneurs. There are also company-wide awards that celebrate three areas of excellence: education and training, environmental/green initiatives, and marketing.

The IAPD announced the 2020 Environmental Excellence Award recipients, which recognizes above and beyond environmental responsibility by an IAPD member company.

This year, the IAPD honored Cope Plastics with the Silver Environmental Excellence Award. This award is the 8th IAPD Environment Program Award that Cope has received. Cope has expanded its recycling program to include 36 different plastics grades, which make up almost 90 percent of the material distributed through or consumed by the company. Cope has recycled over 18.7 million pounds of plastic to date (and counting!).

Education is a large part of IAPD’s mission, and Cope received a Gold Award for the IAPD 2020 Education Circle of Champions. This category acknowledges the companies that have gone above and beyond with innovation and commendable educational initiatives—education that emphasizes continuing plastic education within a company’s training and educational resources.
