Cope’s Annual Charity Golf Event Raises Record Funds

ALTON, IL — Cope Plastics, Inc. hosted their 15th annual charity golf fundraiser on Saturday, October 23rd. Returning to Lockhaven Golf Club, employees, friends, family, and business partners converged to hit the greens for a great cause. A record 25 teams of all ages and abilities attended the four-person scramble-style tournament that also included on-course contests. Participants received lunch and drink tickets as well as awards for first place in Championship Flight, A Flight, and B Flight. 

Gold Level sponsors included UMB Bank, CJ Schlosser & Company, The Daniel & Henry Co., Röchling Industrial North America, Altonized Community Federal Credit Union, SSE Inc, Palram Americas, Schelling USA, Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials, Evolution Plastics, Nautilus Fitness Center, and Cope Plastics. 

Silver Level sponsors were Enviro-Master of St. Louis, RS Auto Repair, Rick & Shannahan CPAs, Freer Auto Body, Sammi’s Sandwiches, and Sign Magic. 

A grand total of $11,100.00 was generated to benefit Friends of Kids With Cancer, a local organization devoted to enriching the daily lives of children undergoing treatment for cancer and blood-related diseases. The Cope team is dedicated to supporting Friends of Kids With Cancer in providing educational, emotional, and recreational support to children and families fighting these diseases. 

Sherri Boeck, Controller at Cope Plastics, has helped organize the event since its inception. “We’ve raised a total of $102,879.00 over 15 years and we’re honored to help kids with cancer be kids. Together we can and will continue making a difference in the lives of children battling cancer. The planning committee is thankful for the generous support from our sponsors, our golfers, and our volunteers and we hope to see even stronger participation next year,” said Boeck. 

Lockhaven Golf Club is located just off the scenic Great River Road in Godfrey, Illinois. Recently reopened, it is a professionally designed 18-hole, 72-par public course overlooking the Mississippi River.
