HDPE
High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
Polyethylene is available in two basic grades: Low Density and High Density. High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) has greater strength and rigidity than other polyethylene grades. It has excellent chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, and toughness.
Machining, thermoforming and welding high-density polyethylene is easy. This material is FDA compliant for food contact.

An Overview of HDPE: A Thermoplastic Polymer with High Strength and Resistance
High-density polyethylene is a thermoplastic polymer made from ethylene monomers. It has a high strength-to-density ratio, which makes it ideal for many applications that require durability and resistance to various factors.
Key Industries Served:
Food & Beverage Processing: HDPE’s FDA compliance and low moisture absorption make it ideal for cutting boards, food processing components, conveyor parts, and work surfaces that must remain hygienic and resist contamination.
Agriculture & Farming: With USDA compliance and high stress-crack resistance, HDPE is commonly used in irrigation systems, livestock enclosures, feeding systems, and equipment panels exposed to the elements.
Marine & Dock Building: Marine-grade HDPE is corrosion-resistant, UV-stable, and water-resistant, making it perfect for dock fenders, piling caps, boat parts, and marine construction.
Chemical Processing & Industrial Manufacturing: HDPE’s excellent chemical resistance makes it suitable for tanks, containment systems, liners, and chemical handling equipment.
Material Handling & Conveying: HDPE’s wear resistance and impact strength make it a reliable option for chain guides, chute liners, and conveyor components in bulk material handling systems.
Construction & Infrastructure: Durable and resistant to weathering, HDPE is used in protective barriers, ground protection mats, duct spacers, and underground piping systems.
Water & Wastewater Treatment: HDPE performs well in moisture-rich and chemically aggressive environments, making it suitable for lining systems.
Recreational & Public Facilities: Often found in playground equipment, park benches, and outdoor signage, HDPE provides a long-lasting and safe material choice for high-use, high-impact environments.
HDPE is a versatile and reliable material that has many benefits and uses in various industries and sectors.
